Rugged keyboards & trackballs for demanding applications
Requirements for military applications are demanding. It needs a deep technical knowledge to find the right robust keyboard or pointing device solution.
Military projects require an availability of 10 -15 years. We have full control over every component used in the keyboard: whether it is the mechanics, the PCB, firmware, we have that fully under control and that's why we can guarantee this long term availability.
We do not produce consumer products, only high-end industrial products for demanding applications.

Our keyboards and trackballs are waterproof, dustproof and we have several MIL-spec certifications. When we develop a new product, we promise long time availability, which is an important term in the word “rugged”.

The "standard" rugged keyboardrange
The military market started with the production of the F-range MIL spec trackballs and in doing quite some projects with these trackballs we noticed that the customer also needed a keyboard with similar requirements, so we decided to make a standard range called MKB104.
MKB104 keyboard range
The range is fully tested to MIL STD 461 and MIL STD 810 and DO-160. We have a panel mount and desktop version available.
What is special about this rugged keyboard ?
It uses a fully machined aluminium enclosure and carrier plate.
There is an EMC can on the backside for improved EMC behaviour.
All metal components have a Surtec 650 coating for an improved corrosion and scratch resistance.
The keyboards are equipped with an Amphenol connector (as a standard).
The switch we are using for this military keyboard has a unique combination. It's a full travel switch and it has a long durability: a lifetime of over 10 million actuations.
It feels like a normal keyboard and furthermore it can be backlit (NVIS compatible) and is waterproof.
